Hi! I'm Heather. I'm a 30-something runner in the burbs of Chicago; I have a sarcastic and supportive husband, two cute kids, and my own small menagerie of pets.
Oh, and I love to run. And race. Road races, trail races, flat, hilly, muddy, sunny, absurdly cold...it all makes me happy.
I started running in 2012 and although I hated it at first, I am totally hooked now. When I started, 60lbs over weight and fitness challenged, I learned that the real victory in running was putting yourself out there. Two years lighter, in better shape than I have ever been and 55lbs lighter, the victory is still in getting out there, although the challenges are different. Putting myself out there for races and running in general is still a scary but amazing endeavor, and I sincerely hope that never changes.
Currently, I am a professional mom who does odd jobs from home. In a past life I worked in administration and payroll for a doctor's office, and loved it; along the way I earned my bachelor's degree in healthcare administration and my MBA with a focus in healthcare. Some day I'll head back that route, but for now, we're all just enjoying the ride.
